You will gain an understanding of how Little Africa was born and the contribution of African heritage to Brazilian culture. We will visit Pedra do Sal, an important heritage site for Samba, and Cais do Valongo, today a recognized world heritage site, where enslaved Africans first stepped foot in Brazil. You will have the opportunity to understand how the samba was born, candomblé and the culture of resistance around quilombo communities.
